I grew up in Orange County, California. In 1993, I both graduated from Brigham Young University and joined the Utah Army National Guard. Completing law school in 1996, I was admitted to the Utah Bar after having spent a year as a state trial judge's Law Clerk/Bailiff in the Utah 4th District Court in Provo.
In all legal matters, my goal is to help clients understand their options for solving problems so that they can make informed decisions in order to retain or regain balance in their lives. I have exposed myself to broad life experience in order to be the most effective problem-solver for my clients. Therefore, I am pleased to talk to any person about their case and, if I cannot help them, refer that person to an attorney or service that can.
My primary interests and experience in law focus on helping families and businesses. In these areas, I have served as general counsel, Mediator, Guardian ad Litem, mediation advisor, legal coach, parent's counsel and defense attorney.
Tools such as wills, trusts, family limited liability companies, and private charitable foundations are important to consider when creating financial plans for both families and businesses. I enjoy the opportunity to provide the custom tailoring that is critical for these strategies to be optimally successful.
Before joining Esplin | Weight in 2008, I spent a year in Afghanistan with the US Army. I was an "embedded trainer" based in Kandahar, mentoring the Afghan National Army in military justice. I also provided legal services to a combined joint task force (including US, British, Dutch, and Canadian military) and coordinated with NATO civil affairs and counter-insurgency operations. In addition to these assigned duties, I volunteered to be regional Civil Affairs Officer. In this capacity, I investigated, accessed funds for, and supervised distribution of funds in projects involving school building and repair, underground irrigation and well construction, road repair and construction, and more.
Let me help you. Talk to me about your case. If I cannot help you personally, I will refer to you an attorney, legal services or free services that can help you solve your problem.
